Rooted in Dale Hollow for Over 20 Years
In 2024, Matt's Marine & Powersports proudly acquired East Port Marina, a cherished establishment that has been a part of the Dale Hollow Lake community since its opening in 1965. Our family — Edwin, Frank, and Matthew Leslie-Kubat — has deep roots in the area, having called Dale Hollow home for over 20 years. For us, this acquisition isn't just about expanding our business; it's about continuing the legacy of a place we love and forging new friendships along the way.
Steering East Port Into Its Next Chapter
The name Matt's Marine & Powersports is a tribute to our son, Matthew Leslie-Kubat, who will be learning the ropes of marina life and helping us steer East Port into its next chapter. Our plans include expanding our restaurant and bar services, creating more patio and dock space, and introducing on-demand boat launch services with our new dry dock boat storage.
More Than a Business, It's Family
East Port Marina is more than just a business to us, it's a vital part of our family's future on the lake. We also own a farm in Monroe and have other ventures in the area, making this new chapter a perfect fit for our family and for the community we love.

Whether she’s coordinating the team or rolling up her sleeves to tackle any task, Tashina’s leadership and adaptability make her the anchor of the marina’s daily operations. No task is too big or small for her, and she’s always ready to jump in and fill any role to keep the marina running smoothly. Originally from California, Tashina brings a wide range of experience. From managing construction projects to honing her people skills in retail and learning the nuts and bolts of operations at a mechanic shop, each job has shaped her into a resourceful problem-solver. Her background has equipped her with the versatility and confidence to handle just about anything that comes her way.
Tashina is married to Dustin, who manages a local cattle farm in the community. They share a love for life on the farm with their three children and their dog, Ghost, while also raising goats, chickens, cattle, and even a goose. When she’s not at the marina, Tashina can often be found kayaking on Dale Hollow Lake or at the race track. As a former President of the Music City Quarter Midget Racing Association, she managed the track and shared her passion for motorsports and community leadership.
Tashina’s favorite part of working at the marina is getting to work on the lake, helping people, and embracing the fact that every day brings a new adventure. She also loves spending time with the marina crew and never says no to a big salad from the restaurant. Whether she’s assisting a guest, managing operations, or spending time on the farm, Tashina embodies the spirit of East Port Marina: teamwork, community, and a love for life on the lake.
Melanie King
Dock Manager
Read Bio
Melanie joined East Port Marina in 2024, starting in the kitchen before working her way up to Dock Manager. Originally from California, she came to the lake ready to learn and grow, and she’s done exactly that. A clean dock and well-kept boats aren’t just expectations for Melanie, they’re a point of personal pride. That same care carries over into every interaction she has with guests, where her warm and straightforward approach makes people feel right at home on the water.
Away from the marina, Melanie enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, both active in Girl Scouts. Whether she’s managing the dock or spending time with her family, she brings the same dedication to everything she takes on.
Fred Babinchak
Maintenance Technician
Read Bio
Originally from Michigan, Fred has been part of the East Port Marina team for over 14 years. He started out cleaning boats and worked his way up to become a trusted mechanic, driven by his hands-on background and a genuine love of the craft. His steady expertise and easy-going manner with customers have made him one of the marina’s most beloved team members.
When the season ends, Fred trades the chilly air for the Florida sunshine, but relaxing is only part of the plan. Each off-season, he puts on a Santa suit and brings a little Christmas magic to children, a tradition that has become as much a part of who he is as the boats he works on. The marina wouldn’t be the same without him.
